Apple: iPod Nano und Shuffle bald mit integriertem Lautsprecher? [Gerücht/Patent]

Gerüchte gibt es viele rund um Apple. Einige davon bewahrheiten sich, andere wiederum bleiben Träume der Apple-Fangemeinde. Interessant wird es dann, wenn ein Gerücht basierend auf einem Patentantrag von Apple entsteht. Genau das ist jetzt passiert. Apple hat bereits im Jahr 2010 einen Patentantrag eingereicht, in dem ein extrem kleiner und vor allem dünner Lautsprecher beschrieben wird, der etwa in der Rückseite des iPod Shuffle oder iPod Nano integriert werden kann. Wie das dann aussieht, erkennt man im Bild oben ganz gut.

Der praktische Nutzen einer solchen Neuerung erscheint mir persönlich dagegen begrenzt. Einerseits wird ein Lautsprecher dieser Dimension kaum über ausreichend Klangqualität verfügen um wirklich überzeugen zu können. Andererseits muss man sich die Frage stellen, warum Apple überhaupt einen Lautsprecher in ein Device wie den iPod Nano integrieren sollte.

For example, one or more indentations in the surface may be provided to increase the size of the cavity and/or control the frequency response of the cavity. Generally, the larger the size of the cavity, the lower the frequency that may be resonant within the cavity. In some embodiments, holes may be provided in the surface to adjust the frequency response.

Schon entsteht das nächste Gerücht: zeigt die Auslassung im Clip des iPod Nano etwa die Position einer etwaigen Kamera an? Ja, so schnell geht das. Aber was passiert, wenn sich das Design des iPod Nano wieder komplett ändert? Man wird sehen.
