Es scheint so, als hätte man bei LG nun endlich verstanden, dass zum Verkauf von Android-Smartphones auch ein gewisser After-Sales-Service und vor allem eine ordentliche Update-Politik dazu gehören. Nach langem Schweigen und vielen Ausreden, hat LG in diesem Monat endlich das 2.3.4 Update für das LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed und das 2.3.5 Update für das LG P920 OPTIMUS 3D ausgerollt. Das P970 OPTIMUS Black soll in den nächsten Tagen folgen.
Kaum sind die Gingerbread-Updates ausgerollt, kündigt LG nun an, für folgende Geräte auf jeden Fall Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich veröffentlichen zu wollen:
Für alle weiteren Geräte, also zum Beispiel das P500 OPTIMUS One, will man zumindest prüfen, ob ein Update auf ICS möglich ist. Weitere Informationen dazu und wann die Updates kommen sollen, will LG im Dezember bekannt geben.

LG confirms today that the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS will be initially available for the following high-end LG smartphones which were introduced this year: the Optimus 2X, the Optimus Black, the Optimus 3D and the Optimus LTE. We are also continuing to evaluate the ICS OS to determine whether it is compatible with the functionality, features and performance of other LG smartphones to make the ICS OS available on as many LG smartphones as possible.
