LG gibt Termine für Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update für P990 OPTIMUS Speed, P970 OPTIMUS Black und P920 OPTIMUS 3D bekannt

Das lange Warten auf das Android 2.3 Gingerbread-Update hat bald ein Ende. LG hat heute auf der Facebook-Seite von LG Mobile Global Termine für die Android-Smartphones LG P920 OPTIMUS 3D, LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed und das LG P970 OPTIMUS Black bekannt gegeben.

Zunächst bedankt sich LG für die Geduld der Besitzer von OPTIMUS-Geräten und gibt im nächsten Atemzug bekannt, dass man alle erforderlichen Maßnahmen ergreifen wird, damit das Update für alle LG-Kunden zeitnah verfügbar sein wird. Speziell auf das Update für das LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed warten Besitzer dieses Smartphones sehnsüchtig, in der Hoffnung, dass mit Gingerbread die bekannten Probleme (Reboots, GPS-Fix etc) mit dem Update endlich behoben wurden.

Die anvisierten Termine für europäische Geräte ohne Betreiber-Branding lauten:

• LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed (2X) – 1. November
• LG P920 OPTIMUS 3D – Ab dem 21. November
• LG P970 OPTIMUS Black – Ab dem 28. November

Die zu erwartende Version ist Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Ob die oben genannten Termine für Deutschland gelten, kann erst am Mittwoch final beantwortet werden, da LG seinen Sitz in NRW hat. Dort sind aufgrund des morgigen Feiertages und der Tatsache, dass sich viele heute einen Brückentag genommen haben, keine Ansprechpartner verfügbar. Daher bat LG Deutschland auf der Facebook Seite entsprechend um Geduld. Hier das komplette Statement von LG Mobile Global:

LG would like to express its sincere thanks to all of the Optimus Series owners who have been waiting patiently for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade. We are excited by the high level of product interest that LG Optimus Series owners have shown, and we are taking all possible measures to offer a smooth OS upgrade in a timely manner.

The three premium smartphones of the Optimus Series will be upgraded first, as outlined below, followed by a global rollout thereafter.

• LG Optimus 2X: Now available (as of 1st November, 2011) for open models in Europe
• LG Optimus 3D: Week commencing November 21st for open models in Europe
• LG Optimus Black: Week commencing November 28th for open models in Europe

The exact timing of the upgrades in each market may vary because of the different requirements in each country with respect to domestic operators and models. Please contact local service representatives to check the specific upgrade schedule in your market.

Again, LG greatly appreciates the support and feedback that customers have given during the upgrade delay, and we will do our utmost to continually provide better service in the future.

LG Mobile Global hat Informationen und Termine für das Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread-Update bekannt gegeben. Aufgrund des Brücketages und des anschließenden Feiertages können wir von LG Deutschland im Moment noch nicht bestätigen, dass die Termine, bzw. speziell der Termin für das LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed (1. November), für Geräte auf dem deutschen Markt eingehalten werden wird.

Das Update wird jetzt aber auf jeden Fall nicht mehr lange auf sich warten lassen.

Für das P920 OPTIMUS 3D ist das Update für den 21. November und für das P970 OPTIMUS Black für den 28. November angesetzt.
