Am Montag hatte LG endlich Stellung zum Gingerbread Update genommen. Dabei gab es Infos zum Update für das LG P920 OPTIMUS 3D, das LG P970 OPTIMUS Black und das LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed.
Zumindest für Besitzer des LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed hat das Warten endlich ein Ende. Das Update auf Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread wurde heute von LG freigegeben und steht Geräte ohne Branding zum Download bereit.
Um das Speed zu updaten einfach folgende Anleitung von LG befolgen:
Das Update kann momentan nur über das LG Mobile Support-Tool auf dem OPTIMUS Speed installiert werden. Dieses steht für Microsoft Windows zur Verfügung.
Damit jeder von euch das Update so schnell wie möglich auf sein LG P990 OPTIMUS Speed laden kann, habe ich für euch eine kleine Anleitung zur Installation zusammengestellt, die in wenigen Schritten zum Erfolg führt:
- Ladet euch bitte von der LG-Website das Mobile-Support (Auf Software-Update klicken) Tool herunter.
- Installiert die Anwendung.
- Startet die Anwendung
- Klickt auf “Installiere USB-Treiber”, wählt das P990 aus, wartet den Download ab. Den USB-Treiber findet ihr dann zur Installation unter c:\LGP990
- Achtet darauf, dass der Massenspeichermodus nicht aktiviert ist. Deaktiviert diese Option ggf. unter Einstellungen -> Speicherverwaltung -> Haken bei “USB Speicher” raus.
- Verbindet euer OPTIMUS Speed mit dem PC per USB.
- Klickt auf “SW-Update starten”
- Bitte etwas Geduld haben, der Update-Prozess bleibt gelegentlich für einige Minuten stehen. Das Update läuft trotzdem weiter.
Für Geräte mit Branding verspricht LG ein “zeitnahes Update.

LG is currently in the process of planning the ICS OS update for the LG Optimus 2X as well as other LG high-end smartphones. Detailed information on the ICS OS update schedule for specific models will be announced, once the ICS OS is publicly released by Google. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG.

UPDATE: Das Update steht jetzt auch für Geräte mit einem 1&1 Branding zur Verfügung. Vodafone wird folgen, Termin können wir leider noch nicht nennen.

Wenn LG zeitnah wie andere Anbieter ICS raushauen würde könnten die so einiges wieder gut machen, bei mir zumindest.
Ich abe mein LG soeben geupdatet! Und bereue es schon. Seit dem Update zeigt das Display beim scrollen einen hellblauen Lichtschimmer. Das geht überhaupt nicht…Rate daher dringend vom Update ab! Wer mit sagen kann, wie ich das Update rückgängig machen kann….wenn dies überhaupt geht!?

Also ich habe das Update nicht ausprobiert da ich seid einiger Zeit eine Custom Rom der Android Version 2.3.4 drauf habe welche fehlerfrei und perfekt läuft. Und da man mal, wie immer, nur schlechtes über LG’s Programmierkünste liest lass ich das auch lieber. 🙂
