Mircosoft Cortana – Skills Kit freigegeben

Amazon hat mit dem Amazon Echo ein heißes Eisen im Feuer. Der Hersteller aus Redmond zieht in Zusammenarbeit mit Harman Kardon nun nach und veröffentlicht einen Microsoft Cortana Lautsprecher. Damit man die Funktionalität für den persönlichen Assistenten auch erweitern kann, hat man nun ein Skills Kit freigegeben.

Create a new Cortana skill and let users engage with your software more naturally. Start with existing code to build skills that work across Windows 10, Android, and iOS as well as standalone devices based on the Cortana Devices SDK.

Das Skills Kit erlaubt es den Entwicklern dem Assistenten die Möglichkeit zu geben die eigenen Apps und Dienste zu nutzen. Ähnlich wie bei dem Amazon-Pendant Alexa habt ihr dann also die Möglichkeit ToDos in eurem Tool der Wahl erstellen zu lassen, Musikdienste zu benutzen, die ihr wollt und und und. So soll man als Entwickler laut Microsoft monatlich etwa 145 Millionen Nutzer ansprechen können. Für Alexa gibt es mittlerweile ein paar nützliche, aber auch genauso viele sinnlose Skills. What’s in the Cortana Skills Kit?

The Cortana Skills Kit will allow developers to:

– Leverage bots created with the Microsoft Bot Framework and publish them to Cortana as a new skill
– Integrate their web services as skills and re-purpose code from their existing Alexa skills to create Cortana skills
– Connect users to skills when users ask, and proactively present skills to users in the appropriate context
– Personalize their users’ experiences by leveraging Cortana’s understanding of users’ preferences and context, based on user permissions
